Not enough - A good overview but Microsoft s own exam preparation guide poses test questions which are unanswerable based on the material in this book alone. Replication and the system functions are two areas in particular which are not adequately covered. A comprehensive text - such as Robert Vieira s SQL Server 2000 Programming (Wrox Press) - is required as a companion to this training kit in order to pass.

Very good but not enough - This book is very good and easy to read. It explains all the concepts well but the review questions are quite easy and not a good indication of the exam. I did the Transcender questions thoroughly after going through this book once and passed with 86%.

Excellent, but not enough - Very good book, nice to read. the concepts are explain clearly. A bit verbose sometimes but that s what makes it readable.Definitely NOT enough details to prepare for the exam, it is a good overview of the concepts.The review questions are MUCH easier than the ones of the exam so don t count on that to evaluate yourself.

THE Windows 2000 Security Book... - This book covers all security features of Win2K like NTFS, EFS, security templates, ...It also cover a lot of security issues which are not specific to W2K but that W2K use or implement: IPSec, VPN, Firewall, DMZ, PKI, Radius, SSL, Kerberos, SNMP, etc... It also explain how to secure all W2K services at the maximum (RIS, DNS, DHCP, WINS, Group policy, Active directory and Trust relationship, Telnet, Terminal services, ...)Because W2K is much more secure than older Windows version (W9x, NT40), implementing the maximum W2K security could result in a loss of compatibility with these old systems. This book just explains how to deal with that issue, and how to increase NT40 or W9x security (for example to support NTLMV2 or SMB signing)There is also an interesting Chapter about interoperability with UNIX, Novell, Macintosh, LINUX, SAMBA,..What about the form?Each chapter begin with a case study. Then, after each explanation of a security concept, the book explains how to apply this concept to the case study. It doesn t forget explanation about why this or that solution is the correct one. Probably one the best MS-Press Book I ve read ...A Must-have for every IT administrator or architect who cares about W2K security! I recommend it highly!

Refreshing and practically very helpful - This book seems to be very carefully written, and a lot of work was done in getting into the nitty-gritty of Exchange 2000 without evangelising what is an average product. Particularly the problems encountered with the RC stages of the product, it s a wonder this book was out when it was! Dead good, Herr Unkroth! ,-)
